White Smoke coming out exhuast really bad!!

Yesterday i was driving down the street and all of a sudden my car staerted loosing power and a thick white cloud of smoke came out the exhaust. The engine was not smoking, it all came out the exhaust. The car is currently at BMW and they have not checked the car yet, however they believe its the fuel injectors dumping too much fuel. I also had the engine check light on and a drivetran warning, but nothing when i done the onboard vehicle check. Have anyone heard of this happening before?

That is a new one to me, that sucks! Keep us updated on what happens. You didn't have any engine mods, did you?

So BMW told me today what the problem was... They said because I did a muffler delete, my turbo blew. I've never heard of this before, this is a first. I'm still trying to figure out how to come up with $5,100 to get it fixed. Anyone want to donate? I hope to get it fixed before BimmerFest East next month .... FML!!!

That is total BS! I would fight them on that, have them explain how a muffler delete had any effect on the turbo. They're trying to pull a fast one on you.

they said there was no back pressure, which made the turbo spin out of control.

Ha! What a bunch of BS. That would mean the turbo was over boosting the engine, which wouldn't happen as the ECU would open the waste gate to regulate boost pressure. That argument is so easy to put holes in.

I'm going to tell them that tomorrow, and I was also thinking of rebuilding it myself. A rebuild kit is cheap, I just need to know what turbo is in there. I'm doing everything I can to get my car back on the road for Bimmerfest East. I must go, me and my crew.

BMW giving me the run around. I talked to the BMW service manager today and he told me I could get a receipt from when I did the exhaust to determin the sound or the turbo going out before I put on the exhuast. I got the shop to make me a fake receipt dated the day before the turbo when out. Then I had to call BMW NA and they said they can only go off what the dealer say. So hopefully this guy change it up and tell BMW NA it's a manufacturer fault so they can give him the okay to fix it under warranty.today been a very long day.

I'm CLEARED!!!! BMW will fix the problem under warranty. They said the turbo was over boosting, and blew. So the parts were ordered today and I just hope it's done in time for Bimmerfest East!!! Yes!!!! See you guys there.

YES! Good job fighting them on it. Did they say why it was overboosting?

And update: My car is still in the shop, they messed the car up when replacing the turbo. They didnt clean out the intercooler or the charge pipe which have oil sitting inside. By doing that it messed up the motor so they ordered a new one. The new motor been here since friday and because they dont have many techs that car swap the motor, they have not even started on taking out the old one. if this was any other shop im sure my car would have been done a long time ago. They had the car almost two months now.
