328i heated steering wheel problems

I picked up my car last April. I got everything except the drivers assist package. Recently, the heated steering wheel hasn't been working. Here's what happens: I get in my car, turn on the heated seats, defrost, rear defrost, and the heated steering wheel. My radio is on as well (BMW apps). Everything is working just fine and then I realize my wheel is getting cool. I look down and see the light on the button is off. I try to turn it back on and nothing. It doesn't work for at least a day, then suddenly it works again. It's happened twice now.

I'm not sure what the issue is. I've tried to find out online but nothing really explaining why it stops for a day then starts again. Is there a service bulletin about this that I'm not aware of, or am I the only one having this problem. I only have 3,790 miles on the car. About 4 months ago I had a problem with the car battery not charging and limiting what systems would run. The dealer fixed it, but could this be a result of that?

It sounds like it might be tripping a relay or something. The nice thing about a new car is the warranty. Let us know what ended up being the problem once the dealer fixes it.
