BMW 328i N20 Engine Tune from Kelleners Sport increased output to almost 300hp!

Kelleners Sport has release a tuning module for the all new N20 turbo engine that will be coming out in the base model 328i 2012 3 series sedan and also powering the 328i 2013 3 series coupe.

This is the first tune that we're aware of for the N20 engine and shows that BMW has left power on the table. Kelleners Sport increases the horsepower from 245hp stock to 294hp and increase torque from 260 ft-lb to 310 ft-lb. These numbers are for the N20 installed in an X3 and Z4 but we can expect similar power numbers from the N20 in the F30 3 series.

The new modules make it possible to increase the engine output without changing or modifying existing parts. At the same time, the plug-and-drive system means the module can be fitted with very little effort and, because it uses the manufacturer's original connectors, the power increase can be achieved in next to no time. This method also enables the module to be removed completely without leaving a trace.

This is just the first tuner to produce an N20 performance chip. That means that companies like Dinan, Active Autowerke and others will be able to wring more power from the TwinPower Turbo inline 4 cylinder. If Kelleners can get this much with the engine just coming out think about the power options a year or two into the F30 production life

Does this tune void the BMW warranty? I'm assuming so, but...?

There is almost no way it does not. Only the BMW Power Kits from BMW do not void the warranty. I wouldn't count on BMW putting out a 'power kit' for the N20 any time soon if ever. They don't want to bring the power of the 328i that close to the 335i.
