F30 m3 rage

http://www.bmwcoop.com/2010/11/12/bm...the-future-m3/. If this **** is true about the v6 I will loose all ****ing hope. Going away from their low displacement, high revving, naturally aspirated engines to half ass turbos are one thing. But if they go to a v6..... WTF ///M?

That seems like a very shady rumor. There have actually been printouts along the lines of a model timeline that were leaked by someone inside BMW which shows the motor to be derived from the N54-based powerplant in the 1M Coupe. This V6 wouldn't make sense but I suppose anything could happen.

This is a complete BS rumor, starting from the way they introduce it to how vaguely they discuss it, not even touching base on the fact that this would be the first V6 BMW makes ever and why it's a V and not an inline. I bet you they meant inline-6, but just wrote V6 because of their incompetence.

TL;DR - it's BS, and it's 100% not true.

Article says its a 3.3L, which is the same displacement as an S54, no?

So the new M3 will pretty much be a re-worked S54 with two turbo's. I'll take it.

Thats if the V6 rumors are false, of course.

i think u guys are overreacting, the n54 is up from 300hp to 540hp with a few mods,

i am sure that the V6 might have potential, plus i like increasing HP significantly with a few bolt on. I can see the new M3 getting up to 600Hp within the first year of it comming out.
Also the V confing means that the engine can be bored out to higher displacement.

my only thing against the F30 is that the curb weight might be quite high, like 3700 pounds to 4000 pounds

Also noob question is it gonna have ITBs??? since its a turbo???

My Ride: Inline Six
BMW like many other automotive manufacturers are opting for forced induction to maintain power output without jeopardizing strict fuel economy standards being set in Europe and the United States.

The next generation M3 will have a turbo inline 6. The F10 M5 will have turbo v8. This is neither new or surprising.

actually every1 heres my strong opinion.. no doudt the e46 m3 is by far the most steezy coupe ever made in my opinion but i really like the e92 m3's v8 specifically i love the v8 and not the body but the body will have to make due. i cant wait for this f30 to come out because by the time im ready to hop in a m3 will be approx 2 or 3 years the e46 m3 will be very cheap but too much to mantian and to many miles but the e90/e92 m3's will be just about in my range witch id love to have for personnal use... yes im sick of how many e92/e90 m3's are out there but still it dosent stop me from wanting 1 in the future.. the e46m3 is a dream but if i was born a few years earlier then that would be my 1st buy.. so i am welcoming the f30 m3 because of the drop in current m3 prices just my personnal 2c

Not that much different than a V8 as far as being distanced from the original roots... but the artcle was BS anyways, all it talked about was vague and it was poorly written anyways.

With all due respect the only m3 was the e30... the moat balanced car in the world. I would still take an e36m over the e46 as well... they keep on getting worse with age imo.
