So it turns out the business of being funny is really serious...and sucks.

Gotham Comedy Club, one of the most famous comedy clubs in NYC, is putting serious pressure on me to put pressure on you. Evidently, the other 'new talent' performers also scheduled for this Tuesday's show, are also having a hard time either getting 'bringers' or getting them to call to reserve.

It's offered a chance to win a 'free' guest appearance, a professional DVD (you know, someone that holds the camera up!), and free tickets to a headliner show. To win, I need the most bringers, and if by some miracle I do, the tickets will be raffled amongst those fanatics who attend.

But, be warned and please stay tuned...as the 'booker' at Gotham did write that the manager might not bring in any waiters, the celebrity comic might not attend, and that the show might be canceled.

So, for those of you who think you're funny like me, and ever entertained the thoughts of how fun a job it would be...this is what dues paying in this world is like.

You need to write posts like this. I'll update my other 'dmax comedy' thread if I hear anything.

Meanwhile, if you said you're coming, would you please check in here so I don't have to individually PM you?

Oh, also, I promise...I won't write any more posts begging you to call for reservations and appease the gods of comedy! I want to show I can pay the dues, whether the show goes on or not.

Sorry again, folks. I really enjoy the 'funny' part of comedy, but the business side sucks...and I feel awkward about having to self-promote.

Inspired by an idea a friend of mine had, I'm thinking of maybe just trying to hang out on the streets of Manhattan somewhere with a sign that reads "Comedy $1 for 1 minute" or better "dmax $1/1 min."; hmmm?

How does NYC treat its street performers? Do I need a license for that sort of thing? Anyone happen to know anything about that?

And, anyone care to discuss the merits/issues of filming...with videographer or headcam to then post online. If I can't do comedy 'professionally,' maybe I can still find a way to make money doing it out of the mainstream...just for those few, like you who've actually read this far, who appreciate me for the things I think.

It's hard finding people like you, and I know you can understand why! :lmao

Any videographers interested in participating in an odd comedy experiment?

I really also have to say this: the hardest part of this for me is having to bother people; asking for favors when none are due; and having people think I'm full of myself, which I'm not...but I understand how I'd seem so to you. What I'm trying to do is make a living doing something I love, I'm passionate about, and which I know I do well...because I crack people up all the time and I like seeing people laugh.

I found a method to decipher it and it makes my search easier and makes me stick to the budget and find what I want.

Step 1: You must know what you want. For example: Sport/Metallic/Premium/Xenon

Step 2: Go to www.bmwusa.com and configure your bimmer. Note the price.

Step 3: Go to www.cars.com and look for the price you noted in step 2. For example, my combination is: Sport/Metallic/Premium/Xenon yields to $43,345.
So, when I go to www.cars.com, I look for the car whose price is $43,345. This can filter to the car that I want with the package/option that I need without even scouring information embedded (and sometimes confusing) in the detail of the car. Whenever I see 43,345, that means that car has a higher chance to be Sport/Metallic/Premium/Xenon.


Step 4: Be flexible. I have 5 combinations that I am willing to go with so I go with those 5 combinations.


Here are my combos:
Sport/Non-Metallic/Premium: 41,895
Sport/Metallic/Premium: $42,445
Sport/Metallic/Premium/Xenon: $43,345
Modern/Metallic/Premium: $42,045
Modern/Metallic/Premium/Xenon: $42,945

We just brought some reflective paint to make the brown/red brick more reflective. The middle of our house has white stones and it is naturally more reflective that is why it looks much brighter than the other part of the house (brick)

Was pretty well equipped last I recall. It has frame damage in the rear. I told him to junk it...that even after repairs it most likely wont be the same and even then the resale will be junk because it'll be on carfax.

Pretty much convinced him to get a 335 Coupe as a replacement. Told him about the HPFP issues, but also how there is a 10-warranty on them (and only them!) from BMW for the issue.

I think he is looking for one around the 20-25k range...he found one at a Carmax for 23k...it was a 2007.

Told him I'd ask some fanatics if there was anything else to watch out for when doing a PPI or any particular years to avoid.
